Work Experience & Insight Events

 

Reading Scholars Program

Reading Scholars Program is fantastic please promote ASAP to students in Y12.  It all takes place at Reading University, aims to give students a taste of university life, an insight into studying at degree level & advice on HE.  It will challenge students and enhance current studies with input from leading academics and current undergraduate students.  Information can be found here about eligibility etc

There are 4 different parts:

  • March - Introduction to the University and program.  A chance to meet your mentor and fellow Reading Scholars
  • April - An academic session within your chosen strand ( there are 16 to choose from which i have listed below)
  • July - 4 day residential summer school which aims to increase subject knowledge & enhance key skills which you will need at University.
  • September of Y13 - optional UCAS application workshop.

 

The events run from 9.30am - 3.30pm typically.  You will participate in a project related to your subject, designed to prepare you for work you will undertake at university.  All costs are covered e.g. , food, accommodation, travel etc.  You will be mentored the whole time.
