Control measures - hygiene and social distancing
We want Results Day to be a celebration of the hard work and success of our Year 13 and Year 11 students. Therefore, we are running the day as normally as possible, albeit with additional control measures in place to reduce the risk around coronavirus, in line with government guidelines.
In organising the day like this, we have adjusted our school risk assessment, taking into account the five key measures outlined in the government guidance, as follows:

1. ensuring no students who have been diagnosed with or are displaying symptoms of coronavirus attend the Results Day (hopefully, this will not happen, but parents should contact us if they have any concerns about someone displaying symptoms of Covid-19);
2. encouraging staff and students to clean hands more often than usual;
3. ensuring good respiratory hygiene using the “catch it, bin it, kill it” approach;
4. enhancing our cleaning regime through our contractor, with a specific focus on cleaning frequently touched surfaces;
5. minimising contact and mixing as far as possible.

We would advise students to operate social distancing at all times, including while travelling to and from school. The guide “Safer travel guidance for passengers” is useful in this regard, and can be found on the gov.uk website.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to allow parents to enter the school site on Results Day, unless a pre-arranged appointment is organised (see Student Support below).

Access to site
Students should arrive at school via the Sixth Form entrance gate. The other Main Reception gate will still be open (the building site is still fully operational), but you will not be able to access the Sixth Form Centre from the other A Block end of school.

Students must maintain social distancing at all times while on school site. Sanitiser will be available at entrances and exits in the school, and in outdoor areas where appropriate.

Once students have collected their results, they will need to leave school site promptly, and should not congregate outside the school grounds.

If students are unable to come into school on Results Day, we will post the results home. Please allow a few days for them to arrive by post.

A LEVEL RESULTS - Thursday 13th August

Your A Level results will be released from 8am on 13^th August, and will be available in school from that time until 11.30 am.

Given that Year 13 students tend to arrive at school at different times, we have decided not to arrange staggered blocks of time for different students in alphabetical order, as some schools have done. This may mean that you have to wait for your results for a little while, and we would ask for your patience in this regard.

Site layout
Students will be registered in the Sixth Form Reception area on entry to the school and asked to follow a one-way system to receive their results.

Desks will be set up appropriately to make sure that social distancing is maintained, hopefully if we have dry weather in the area outside the Sixth Form Centre, in front of the Mathematics block.

If the weather does not allow us to use the outside venue, we will move inside the Sixth Form Café, again with desks arranged around the room to enable social distancing.

Student support
While we hope that students will achieve the success that they deserve this summer, we are also aware that some students may have concerns over their results, or about their University or Apprenticeship place.
We will use a triage approach to arrange appointments with members of senior staff in order to support students with any concerns they may have. Students will be given a specific appointment:

• either during the day on 13^th August (8 am to 2pm);
• or, on the following day (Friday 14^th August, from 10 am to midday).

More details on how this will operate will be found inside the results envelope that students receive on the day. Parents are welcome to attend these appointments – students will need to make this clear to the member of support staff when they book the appointment.

A useful leaflet guide to “What next?” has been produced by the government (and can be found on the gov.uk website at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/your-results-what-next).

The UCAS website is, as ever, very useful for advice on how results and university places will operate this summer. This year an “unplaced applicants” list will be available through UCAS from 7am. We will be able to offer support from 8 am in school, but that does not stop students accessing this list earlier and making contact with the relevant bodies.

GCSE RESULTS - Thursday 20th August

Your GCSE Level results will be released from 9am on 20^th August, and will be available in school from that time until 12.30 am.

Given the size of the cohort, we will be unable, unfortunately, to run the Results Day as freely as we usually do. Therefore, Year 11 students will need to arrive at school in different time blocks, arranged by surname in alphabetical order, as follows:

9.30am-10.00am	G-L
10.00am-10.30am	M-R
10.30am-11.00am	S-Z

Students should arrive at school via the Main School entrance gate (in front of Reception). The Sixth Form entrance gate will still be open (the building site is still fully operational), but a one way system will be in operation.

Site layout – receiving your results
Students will enter school site via Main Reception and then walk to the area outside History and Music system to register (for track and trace purposes) and receive their results. Desks will be set up appropriately to make sure that social distancing is maintained.

Once they have collected their results, students who are joining LHS Sixth Form will move to the Sixth Form Common Room area for their enrolment interview. We are also offering enrolment interviews on Friday 21^st August and Monday 24^th August (from 10.00am to 1.00pm on each day).

Students who are not having their enrolment interview will need to leave school site via the one way system promptly, out of the Sixth Form gate, and should not congregate outside the school grounds. While it would be lovely to allow students to stay on school site for a longer period, I hope you understand that for reasons of safety this will not be possible.

If students are unable to come into school on Results Day, we will post the results home. Please allow a few days for them to arrive by post.
